Irish Awards Update
There were a handful of Irish nominations for the 2025 Critics Choice awards but only one win. Colin Farrell took home the Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for TV award for his role in The Penguin. Farrell’s co-star Cristin Milioti also took home the Best Actress award.
See the full list of winners here.
The 2025 BAFTA Awards were held on the 17th of February and despite multiple nominations for Kneecap the film only won 1 award, to Rich Peppiatt for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. This was the only Irish award won on the night.
See the full list of winners here.
Farrell has completed a clean sweep with his SAG Awards win. Farrell once again beat out fellow Irishman Andrew Scott and he had strong competition from Baby Reindeer‘s Richard Gadd to take home the trophy. Unfortunately, Nicola Coughlan didn’t win her category for her star season of Bridgerton.

Farrell’s clean sweep puts him in an excellent position to win Best Actor at the Emmy Awards in November.
